Filippo Mazzoli

Filippo Mazzoli was born in Ravenna and completed his flute studies under Gabriella Melli and Glauco Cambursano with distinction. In 2007, he received the diploma of the II degree at the e “F. Venezze” in Rovigo – as well with distinction.
Already at a young age he attended numerous master classes, inter alia, with A. Nicolet, M. Larrieu, J. Balinet and T. Wye. He also continued his Studies at Cambursano within the framework of the international academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola where he received the diploma for flute in 2000 and also the diploma in chamber music in the class of P. N. Masi in 1999. He completed his studies from 2002 to 2004 with Michele Marasco in Firenze. Later he became his assistant in various master classes.
Mazzoli is a multiple Winner of national and international competitions as a soloist as well as in ensembles. In Oktober 1998, he was one of the six Italian candidates at the “2ème Prix J. P. Rampal”.
As the first flutist, he has performed in various orchestras and ensembles, including the Orchestra de Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the symphonic orchestra from Sanremo and Liguria, the orchestra of Teatro “C. Felice” in Genova, the Nextime Ensemble, the Solisti Veneti and l’Accademia Bizantina, the Camerata Strumentale “Città di Prato”, l’ Orquesta Excelentia/Santa Caecilia in Madrid, orchestra Verdi in Milano and the symphonic orchestra “Rossini” in Pesaro.
From 2007 to 2013 he worked as the first flutist and solo flutist at the orchestra Teatro Regio in Parma (artistical management: Yuri Temirkanov and Andrea Battistoni); After their dispersal he became the first flutist and solo flutist of the orchestra and the soloist of the Opera Italiana, with whom he played in concerts and tourneys around the world.
He also worked with dirigents like Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Michel Plasson, Roberto Abbado, Rafael Frubeck De Burgos, Bruno Bartoletti, Claudio Scimone, Donato Renzetti, Michele Mariotti, Daniele Giorgi and Philippe Bernold.
As a soloist he worked with the German Chamber Virtuoso from Mainz, the Cameristi di New York, the Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato, the Orchestra da Camera in Ravenna and the Orchester Bruno Maderna in Forlì-Cesana .
Since 2011 he works as a flutist at the french wind quintet “Anemos” which is based in Paris. Additionally he worked together with the modern theater “Fanny & Alexander” in Ravenna many times.
At the Berlin publishing company “Ries & Erler” he edited an revised the „concert piece“ op. 41 from Julius Rietz für wind quintet and Orchestra.
As a versatile musician, he also devotes himself to contemporary music. Composers who have written for him and whose works have been published are inter alia: Patrizia Montanaro, Guido Ghetti, Matteo Ramon Arevalos, Kathryn Potter, Stefano Franceschini and Christian Dachez.
He regularly gives masterclasses throughout Europe. From 1999 to 2003, he was a lecturer for flute at the Instituto Musicale Comunale “Vassura-Baroncini” in Imola, from 1997 bis 2002 at the music school “Mikrokosmos” in Ravenna, 2010 at the am conservatory “G. Verdi” in Como and 2011 conservatory “G. Frescobaldi” in Ferrara.
Since 2015 he cooperates with Impronta – Edition UG.
